The term 'glocal' - a combination of 'global' and 'local' - emphasizes multi-scale views in dealing with global and local problems or activities. It is key to the improvement of environmental education. Global environmental problems - such as global warming, resource problems, and population concerns - are becoming increasingly serious. There still exists a wide gap between serious global environmental situations and the reality of environmental education.
