About the author (1992)

Illustrator John S. Goodall was born in 1908 and attended the Royal Academy schools. Even though he worked in advertising, portraits, and magazine and book illustration, he is best known for his wordless picture books. He started publishing these books in the 1960's and many of them were for children. He died in 1996.
