While it is interesting to read different takes on Hellboy by some talented authors, some of the stories are more successful than others. If you are looking to avoid being traumatized for life (and not in a good way) I'd recommend that you go ahead and skip the first story called Jigsaw. Read full review

About the author (2008)

Christopher Golden is a Bram Stoker Award-winning, "New York Times"-bestselling author. He has written numerous books for teens and young adults, including "Soulless" and the thriller series Body of Evidence, honored by the New York Public Library and chosen as one of YALSA's Best Books for Young Readers. The first book in the Secret Journeys of Jack London, "The Wild", has been optioned for film by Fox 2000. Christopher lives with his family in Massachusetts.

Tim Lebbon is the author of nearly thirty books for adults, including "The Island" and, with Chris Golden, the acclaimed Hidden Cities series. He is the winner of numerous British Fantasy Awards and a Bram Stoker Award. He lives in the English countryside with his wife and children.

Greg Ruth is the illustrator of numerous novels, picture books, and comics, including Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars. He lives with his wife and two sons in Massachusetts.
