About the author (2011)

LISA MIKITARIAN lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her husband Sam, her dog Dorian Gray, and the occasional itinerant adult child who wanders home. She has served in both the US Army and the Virginia National Guard first on the enlisted side, then as an officer. Lisa attended the Defense Language Institute and has taught ESL for several years. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite University ironic, as Mennonites are conscientious objectors. One of her greatest joys and greatest challenges was home schooling her three children. Lisa's life is full of ironies, inconsistencies, and full circles which work themselves here and there into her fiction. Her first novel, co-written with her oldest daughter, Madeline, is currently in the editing process. To learn more about Lisa, visit her website at www.lisamikitarian.com.
