-- By legendary networking author William Stallings -- author of the global bestseller Data and Computer Communications.
-- New and expanded coverage includes: Quality of Service, congestion control, differentiated services, MPLS, wavelet compression, Guaranteed Frame Rate (GFR), and much more.
-- The only book that delivers complete, integrated, up-to-date coverage of high-speed TCP/IP with significant coverage of Quality of Service.

For years, networking professionals, designers, and engineers have depended on William Stallings' High Speed Networks and Internets for the understanding they need to build leading-edge products and services. Now, Stallings has thoroughly updated his classic to reflect the newest technologies, trends, and standards. This edition's extensive new coverage includes a comprehensive review of approaches to Quality of Service, as well as in-depth discussions of network design for high-speed TCP/IP and ATM networks. Stallings systematically addresses the issues associated with carrying large volumes of traffic with diverse QoS requirements over networks operating at exceptionally high data rates. He covers a wide range of design issues related to high-speed networks, including congestion control, unicast and multicast routing, multimedia compression and wavelets, and much more. This edition includes a completely new QoS section covering Differentiated Services, Multiprotocol Label Switching, Resource Reservation Protocol, and more. The book also includes thorough coverage of high-speed networking technologies such as frame relay, ATM, and Gigabit Ethhernet; network performance modeling and estimation; traffic management; Internet routing; and more.
