This is a really good book for understanding restoring a bike before you get started. This book is not meant for someone without mechanical expertise. It does touch on some of the really important basics of mechanics for the purpose of restoration, however if you have never done anything with a motorcycle before I would recommend you read or buy a book that teachs that first.
It tells you how to identify a good bike for restoration by clearly identifying costs. Teaches you how to develop a background of older bikes and think about how easily you can get or have to make parts. Overall, this book is good, but not great.
