'Iceland Spar' is John Greening's eleventh book of poetry and his first since his Cholmondeley Award. It is a response to an extraordinary landscape whose mythology has a very personal significance for the author, since his father was stationed in Akureyri during the Second World War. In 2001, the author was given a grant by the Authors' Foundation to visit Iceland for the first time. These poems are the result.
