Based on the four-volume $800 RHS Dictionary, this is a condensed, one-volume index to 60,000 ornamental & economic plants, with brief descriptions that include range & hardiness. Common names & superseded Latin names are cross-referenced, & 30,000 cultivars are listed. There is an extensive glossary of botanical terms used in the plant descriptions or found generally in the literature, accompanied by precise drawings of leaf arrangements, shapes, margins, & surfaces, & various floral & fruit forms. The standard, indispensable source for plant names.
