The J&P Transformer Book, first published in 1925, is known throughout the world as the bible of the power transformer. The twelfth edition is the first revision in fifteen years, and a major re-write, offering more up-to-date and in-depth coverage than any other book.

New chapters include: Transformers associated with DC; Phase-shifting Transformers and quadrature boosters; Installation of transformers; Designing an installation.

The J & P Transformer Book is the essential reference work for engineers concerned with the design, installation, and maintenance of power transformers. It is also invaluable as a textbook for the architect and system planner as well as for the electrical engineering graduate and student.

THE definitive transformer reference book (since 1925!)
12th edition is a major re-write and update

of course a book of the hotter climes in this world an ambient of 45 degrees centigrade are common.using auxiliary cooling for both old and new transformers involves air at such temperatures.the only way to take care of the cooling load is to raise circulation to aid dissipation. there is no clear definition on how many circulations a transformer tolerates. what is the basis of determining heat load from transformer data such as radiator surface area, actual temp vs loading
weights of constituents and specific heats etc . figures of efficiency have comparatively dubious would of interest to know how heat generated is estimated in a working transformer. for example radiator area could indicate a higher loss than actual listed figures . what is the experience in this area
