About the author (1988)

Peggy Landers Rao writes on Japanese design and architecture. The coauthor of "Japanese Accents in Western Interiors", she lives in Armonk, New York.

JEAN MAHONEY and PEGGY RAO, both New Yorkers, met in Tokyo, where after a few years of exploring the Japanese culture together, they decided to pool their talents on this collaboration. Mrs. Mahoney, a graphic designer as well as a watercolorist, has extensive experience in advertising art
direction. Mrs. Rao brought to the team many years experience both as a journalist and as a copywriter at advertising agencies in New York and Switzerland. Their book is one they wished had been available when they moved to Tokyo.
