About the author (1959)

David H. Engel is an American landscape architect based in Chiangmai, Thailand, and the author of several books on gardening and landscaping. He graduated from the University of Michigan and Columbia University before heading off to Japan, where he studied landscape design at Tokyo University of Fine Arts. Engel is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and a partner-emeritus of LANDGARDEN, a landscape architectural firm based in New York City USA.
