Excerpt: "In God's Hands" is a song written and produced by Nelly Furtado and Rick Nowels for Furtado's third album, Loose (2006). It is about Furtado's breakup with DJ Jasper Gahunia, the father of her daughter. According to Furtado in May 2006, the song was "as far as I was willing to go in terms of pop right now." On 15 April 2008 a remix featuring Keith Urban was released as a digital download worldwide. The radio mix of the song is shorter than the album version and video edit, and it contains added strings and beats. There is a Spanish version of the song titled "En las Manos de Dios" on the limited summer edition of Loose. The CD single for "In God's Hands" was released in Australia on 12 October 2007. For a limited time, it was available only in the Australian store JB Hi-Fi, before being released on its online store. In Canada, the single was released to radio and video stations in December 2007.
