About the author (2004)

Stan Cullimore got the idea for this story one day while fishing. He was in a boat with his son. As a helicopter flew overhead, his son joked that it had come to rescue them. That got Stan thinking. What if they really did need to be rescued? Before becoming a writer, Stan Cullimore played guitar in a popular music group in England. Today, he performs and composes music for television, in addition to writing books for children.

Paul Savage works in a design studio, drawing pictures for advertising. He says illustrating books is "the best job." He's always been interested in illustrating books, and he loves reading. Paul also enjoys playing sports and running. He lives in England with his wife and their daughter, Amelia.
