Originally published in 1921, as part of the Cambridge Plain Texts series, this volume contains twenty pieces of prose writing by Italian critic and dramatist Gasparo Gozzi (1713-86). The pieces are all taken from the Gazzetta veneta, a bi-weekly commercial and literary paper created by Gozzi, which began publication in February 1760 and ended in January 1761. Selections are presented in Italian with a short editorial introduction in English. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in Gozzi and Italian literature.
