About the author (1991)

John Agard was born and lived in Guyana until 1977 when he moved to Britain. He lived in London and worked for the Commonwealth institute for several years, giving talks, readings and workshops. John is an acclaimed writer and performer of poetry for both adults and children. He lives in Sussex with the poet, Grace Nichols.
