About the author (2003)

Artist and writer Art Spiegelman is a teacher at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is the creator of Maus, a graphic novel that depicts his father's struggles in Hitler's Europe, and which earned Spiegelman a Pulitzer Prize.

Author of Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Carol Lay is best known for her weekly comic strip Story Minute (later to evolve into the strip Way Lay) which ran for almost 20 years in such papers as LA Weekly, the NY Press and Salon. Her strips and illustrations have also appeared in Entertainment Weekly, Mad Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The New Yorker. She is the author of Mythos, a prose novel featuring Wonder Woman, published by DC and Pocket Books, GOODNIGHT, IRENE: THE COLLECTED STORIES OF IRENE VAN DE KAMP published by Last Gasp, and THE BIG SKINNY: HOW I CHANGED MY FATTITUDE, published by Random House.

Harry S. Robins is the author and illustrator of "The Meaning of Lost and Mismatched Socks," and his numerous cartoons and drawings have been published worldwide. He has also been by turns a circus performer, singer, screenwriter, filmmaker and film actor, television announcer and on-air personality, radio broadcaster, and vocal presence in movies and computer games. Robins is perhaps best known as the voice of harried scientist Dr. Isaac Kleiner in the computer game Half-Life, which was awarded the title Game of the Year in 1999. He lives in San Francisco, California, and his obsession with dinosaurs has never been explained.

Tony Millionaire lives in Pasadena, CA with his wife, the actress Becky Thyre, and their two daughters. He creates the award-winning weekly syndicated comic strip Maakies. His books include Billy Hazelnuts, Billy Hazelnuts and the Crazy Bird, Der Struwwelmaakies, Drinky Crow's Maakies Treasury, Maakies with the Wrinkled Knees, Mighty Mite the Ear Mite, Premillennial Maakies, Little Maakies on the Prairie, The House at Maakies Corner, When We Were Very Maakies, 500 Portraits, and the Sock Monkey series of comics and storybooks.
