Let Me Explain 1948 - 2021: The Long Road to an Unattainable PeaceThe Jewish state of Israel has been under fire for many years for countless reasons. From disregarding human rights and starting wars, to even Nazism, Israel is under constant scrutiny. Despite the fact that they wish to settle on a dual-state system, the Palestinians will not agree. They even continue to live as refugees in order to paint Israel as the villain who stole their homes. The Jewish population no longer feels safe in their country, and no one can blame them. They are accused of using the Holocaust to garner sympathy. Even though the United Nations is pushing for the coexistence of the Jewish and Arab populations, the Arabs view it as forced. This further villainizes the Jewish community, putting their lives at further risk. Even though Syria, Jordan, and Egypt attacked the Jewish population in Israel, the Arabs argue that the Jews have made this up. In the Israeli War of Independence, Israel was simply fighting for their lives. Without the brave men and women who fought this war, they may have crumbled altogether. Had the Jews not fought for their lives, they may have been exterminated like Hitler attempted to do in the Holocaust. Israel is not completely innocent, but they are criticized more heavily than any other nation in the world. Every wrong move they make is blown out of proportion and made out to be the end of the world and freedom as we know it. However, this book works to show the world the truth and exonerate Israel so that they may move forward in their fight to live in peace. |
