About the author (2014)

Did you know that Miuccia Prada was a devoted activist of the Italian Communist Party? And the way Armani revolutionised the male jacket? Or how Gucci was rescued from bankrupcty?

But it was tough even for the others.  "It was anything but simple,” sighs Domenico Dolce. “We had our success at the fashion week presentation, but afterwards we were flat broke. We had invested everything and now we couldn’t find anybody willing to produce us. Nobody! For two and half months we went around knocking on every door we could find, but it was all in vain. Nothing. We had an assistant, and we had to send him away. We had a little piggybank full of our savings, and we had to break it open.

Fashion offers some damn good stories!  You'll find them in this book. Lords of Fashion.
