Maggie doesn't trust men. Losing her father when just an infant, she grew up with a stepfather that didn't particularly care if she were around or not. Then one day Jake McCormick arrives in her life. Already adoring his young son, she nevertheless endeavors to resist the ambiguous advances of his father. Jake has vowed to never to trust another woman after his disastrous first marriage. Leaving his young son with his parents to raise he pursues his dream of leading wagon trains west to Oregon. But on one return he finds he is sorely tempted by redheaded Maggie Davis. His son already adores her, and he finds himself drawn to her against his better judgment. Both find their worlds turned upside down as they struggle to uncover the true meaning of love and trust as God has designed it. Maybe then they'll be able to embrace fulfillment with each other.

About the author (2010)

I grew up in Southern Missouri in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. My earliest memory, at the age of four, involves the protection of God over myself and my little brother from a copperhead snake, and I seem to have always had a sense of God's presence in my life. I accepted the Lord Jesus as my savior when I was five. When I was seven my father became a minister and pastor, so I grew up being involved in every aspect of church life. In my early twenties I met and married the love of my life and we resided around the Hutchinson, Kansas area for more than seventeen years. We brought our three children to Branson, Missouri on vacation and fell so in love with the area that we finally moved here in 1991. I have two delightful grandchildren with whom I enjoy spending as much time as possible. I also enjoy gardening; we have a small vegetable garden and many flower beds. My other interests include Bible study and prayer. For years I have had the plots and characters of the McCormick family and their surrounding neighbors in my head. I am delighted to have this first book with Jake McCormick and Maggie Davis finally printed. I sincerely hope that you enjoy reading about them as much as I have enjoyed writing their story. Coming soon is the second novel in the series about Maggie's half-sister, Beth, and Ben McCormick. I hope you will join me as we continue through their life journeys. I have a published collection of poems, Ride a White Horse, for any of you poem lovers. Thank you for joining me in my debut of Maggie's Trust. Donna Boden
