Main Economic Indicators: Comparative Methodological Analysis : Wage Related Statistics

Front Cover
OECD Publishing, Dec 22, 2003 - Business & Economics - 152 pages

This publication compares key aspects of statistical methodologies used by OECD member countries in the compilation of wage related statistics. Such statistics comprise wages and earnings, minimum wages, labour costs and prices, unit labour costs and household income. The focus of the publication is data comparability in the context of international guidelines and recommendations published by the OECD and other international organisations. The publication also outlines the conceptual relationship between each of the wage related statistics covered.

This publication is similar to two previous publications providing methodological information for industry, retail and construction indicators, and price indices, where the focus is on short-term statistics published in the OECD publication, Main Economic Indicators (MEI). However, the current publication also contains detailed information and analyses on annual statistics on wage related statistics, many of which are not published in Main Economic Indicators.

ALSO AVAILABLE ON CD-ROM AND ON LINE
The CD-ROM version of the MEI database is available in Beyond 20/20TM for WindowsTM, which is user-friendly software that allows the user to extract data and prepare customised tools for analysis such as graphs and tables. It contains additional information not available in the paper publication, such as extra business survey, balance of payments and leading indicator series. The database is also available online at www.SourceOECD.org.
