Art has been in the human consciousness for more than 40,000 years. It's as unique to us as a species as being able to talk and even fundamental to our survival. It's not just for copying or describing what we see, but creating a whole out the disparate parts around us and envisioning our future. The large majority of us enjoy creating art when we are children, but then by the age of around nine, most of us stop. We either decide for ourselves we cannot draw or else we are told that we cannot! In Mandala: The Art of Creating Future, June-Elleni Laine brings forward reasons why art (an aspect of the divine feminine) is now, at this particular time in our evolution, more important than ever. She explains why and how we can revive it as a tool to create our personal and collective futures, to make sense of and improve our individual lives as well as avoiding the fate of the Neanderthals.
