About the author (2003)

Suzanne P. Fredericks is currently a paintings conservator and serves on the board of the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum.

Fisher is a graduate of the University of Michigan. She received a Master of Science in Education from Indiana University while serving in the Teacher Corps in Indianapolis, Indiana. After teaching in urban schools for more than a dozen years, and having completed a writing Fellowship, she retired to focus her time on family, volunteer work, and writing, devoting her efforts to civil rights and educational issues.
