About the author (2012)

James Tertius de Kay is a naval historian and the author of Monitor: The Story of the Legendary Civil War Ironclad and the Man Whose Invention Changed the Course of History and Chronicles of the Frigate Macedonian, which was praised by the New York Times as "history that reads like a historical novel." He lives in Connecticut.

John Edens is an illustrator of books for young readers. His credits include Meet Christopher Columbus by James T. de Kay, Sea of Ice: The Wreck of the Endurance by Monica Kulling, and The Time Machine by H. G. Wells.
