My name is not Milo Powell, but it has been a few times. I was born in a rural setting into an immigrant farm family and raised in a midwest-city atmosphere. My father, a construction worker, provided me with a strong work ethic; and my mother instilled in me the naiveté of a farmer’s daughter. Both were intelligent. Mom was top of her class in high school, and Dad was awarded a college scholarship but didn’t take it because he didn’t think it would allow him enough time to play around
