James Peter Usavage was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He and his wife of 29 years, Judy, have lived in various parts of the country, settling in southwest Florida. Recently retired from working in the public utilities field, James is embarking on a second career of writing. James likes to write about ordinary people who get caught up in extraordinary, strange events that seem to change the direction of their lives forever.
