Native Americans in Fiction: A Guide to 765 Books for Librarians and Teachers, K-9

The author has identified almost 800 titles published since 1960 about Native Americans. This index lists the books by tribe, then alphabetically by author. Titles were selected from actual collections and are appropriate for elementary to middle school. Each entry gives author, title, publisher, date, and indication of appropriate grade level, a description and subject indicators. An appendix lists tribe and sub-tribe names with their associated region; a second appendix lists books by grade level and tribe. Author, title and subject indexes complete the access features. Because many older titles are out of print, this source is intended as a key to existing collections rather than as a buying guide.
