This unusually intriguing book features colorful photo-litho illustrations by John Danford, printed by L.Van Leer &Co., Ltd of London & Amsterdam. The layout was designed by Will Carter in 1960. I have a copy, inscribed by the original owner (with an ex-libris bookplate on the back of the front cover) dating the purchase to February 1961 in Lagos, Nigeria. Each fabulously accurate illustration is accompanied by a short description on the facing page specifying which tribes & ceremonies the traditional costumes, jewelry & accessories were made for. It is a must-add to any anthropologists or fashion designers library. I will sell my own copy, in very fine condition, for $250 USD & not a penny less than that.
