About the author (2009)

Jon Batson is mostly known for his original songs, including five stage musicals and a string of album releases. Now he has turned his talents to story telling of a different sort with short stories and complete novels. The original short stories "Powder Monkey of Cape Fear," "Gaston's Last Run" and "Love at the Lumina Pavilion" were winners in the annual Lower Cape Fear Historical Society Short Story Contest for 2005, 2006 and 2007 respectively. Two of Jon's stories have been awarded Honorable Mention by Writers of the Future. His journal for songwriters, 'The Songwriter's Hook Book, ' is used by songwriters worldwide and is available online and in select stores. Jon recently returned to his boyhood stomping grounds and is living with his wife Eileen in Raleigh, North Carolina where he is working on his next novel.
