'Mary had a little lamb,' and so can any child, on a beautiful, bright knit. Thirty charming, intermediate-level projects give knitters a wonderful opportunity to delight their children with familiar and beloved nursery rhymes on handmade mittens, scarves, hats, vests, or blankets. Each item, shown in color photos and charts, is worked in one piece and presents a shortened version of the rhyme along with an image that illustrates the playful words. Just think how precious a toddler will look in a cobalt blue 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' cap with a charming star design, plus matching mittens that display the rhyme. The dramatic 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' design has patches of yellow and green that act as spotlights, emphasizing black words and spiders on a red background. Those new to working with color will find helpful hints, and a section on creating personalized patterns comes complete with blank grids and an alphabet.

This book is wonderful. Ms. Boyer's sense of color is marvelous, and she empowers the reader to use her designs as is or as inspiration for your own designs. The cover really doesn't do it justice - the designs are way more wonderful than I expected. Love it!
