O.T.: A Danish Romance
Otto grew up on his grandfather's farm in Jutland. When his grandfather died, Otto went to Copenhagen to study. There he became friends with Vilhelm, his opposite in every way. On holiday, Otto spends a holiday with Vilhelm's large welcoming family and falls in love with Sophie, who is engaged to someone else. Meanwhile, Otto is terrorized by Heinrich, who knows the truth about the "O.T." burn on Otto's shoulder. He and a lost sister were born in Odense Prison; Otto finally learns that his sister is the lovely Eva, who has crushed Vilhelm's heart. Even when one rises above one's place in life, a person is not free from his social history.
