Providing true occupation-based intervention can often be overwhelming and time consuming for practitioners in today‚€™s fast paced health care industry. The solution is Occupational Therapy Intervention Resource Manual, which provides practical strategies for generating and implementing occupation-based treatment plans in everyday practice. Occupational Therapy Intervention Resource Manual is designed to help the user develop and engage clients in treatment programs that are individualized, meaningful, and oriented toward the clients‚€™ occupations and occupational performance. The authors have identified strategies and developed tools that enable users to critically evaluate and refine their own practice, as well as assist those whom they supervise, mentor, and teach.

This is an excellent book that provides a strucutre for analyzing and choosing interventions in Occupational Therapy. The focus is client centered, which is an important reminder for therapists. It justifies exercise as a modality, but reminds clinicians that we must strive for purposeful and occupation based interventions if we want to priovide true OT treatment. One downfall is the PRICE of the book! I used to have my students purchase this book, but becasue the price is so high, I've chosen to not have them get it. When it first came out (different publisher I believe), it was more reasonably priced. All clinicians should have a copy of this book, but I'm CERTAIN that the price will make many reconsider the investment! It's too bad!
