About the author (2007)

Bruce Edge, a Tulsa lawyer, is 1 of only 39 attorneys in the United States who is Board Certified in DUI Defense Law, National College for DUI Defense, according to the American Bar Association guidelines. He also is a sustaining member of the National College for DUI Defense. Bruce considers his law firm to be a boutique practice—that is, he limits his practice to DUI Defense and limits the number of cases he accepts. This allows him to dedicate extra time and effort to each case. Not only does he devote extra time to his cases, he devotes a tremendous amount of time to study and training on the issues related to alcohol offenses. He is the co-author of the Oklahoma DUI Survival Guide, A Citizens' Protection Manual and is sought by various forms of media for his comments on legal issues. Bruce is sought out by other attorneys throughout the United States to instruct them regarding DUI defense including recent sessions with the National College for DUI Defense held at Harvard University. Additionally, other attorneys request that Bruce serve as an Expert Witness for their difficult cases. In 2006, Bruce and John were the first and only two Oklahoma DUI lawyers selected as Super Lawyers. This recognition is limited to the top 5% of attorneys in the state. This recognition is based on a survey of every attorney in the state as well as an exhaustive background check of training and cases handled by the attorney. They were selected again in 2007. Also, in 2007, Mr. Edge was the first and one of only two Oklahoma DUI Attorneys selected as a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). The LCA is an invitation only, legal honor society representing only _ of 1% of the Attorneys in the United States. He is member of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the President Emeritus of the Tulsa County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.John Hunsucker, located in Oklahoma City, is the lead attorney with the Hunsucker DUI Defense Firm. Mr. Hunsucker's practice is almost exclusively DUI-related defense. He handles over 175 DUI cases a year ranging from first-time offenders to DUI felony murder cases. In 2007, Mr. Hunsucker co-authored the Oklahoma DUI Survival Guide, A Citizen's Protection Manual. Mr. Hunsucker is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the administration of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) and is also certified as an Instructor in SFST. Mr. Hunsucker has taught the SFST course to attorneys from numerous states. In 2004, Mr. Hunsucker was one of the first attorneys in Oklahoma to receive formal Drug Recognition Evaluation (DRE) training (and is still only one of four attorneys in Oklahoma to have this training). Additionally, Mr. Hunsucker teaches, participates and/or attends almost all national, regional and local DUI seminars. Mr. Hunsucker is frequently called upon to teach DUI seminars by various groups including the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. The Hunsucker DUI Defense firm owns five Intoxilyzers and several simulators. This is the largest collection of machines in western Oklahoma. Mr. Hunsucker has been formally trained in the operation of the Intoxilyzer® 5000—which is currently being used in Oklahoma—and of the brand new Intoxilyzer® 8000. The State of Oklahoma has certified Mr. Hunsucker as an Intoxilyzer® 5000 operator and maintenance specialist. Mr. Hunsucker is a Director on the Board of the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association, and is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and National College for DUI Defense. Additionally, in 2007, he was selected as a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA).
