Volume I covers the Nyaung U sector where the building of small temples and stupas has continued uninterrupted since the eleventh century. It provides details about a vast number of temples, monasteries and shrines that sum up the tremendous surge forward of Myanmar art and architecture from the eleventh century onwards. Incudes a descriptive note in English for each monument.
