About the author (2010)

About the author:Mary Lou Moeller taught middle schoolers for 40 years. Upon retiring she became a volunteer reader of picture books to schools as Auntie LuLu. From 1997, to the present, she read to many schools from kindergarten to sixth grade in each of her three residences: Wisconsin, Florida and Sweden. When a book was liked by at least two hundred kids, it was put on her web site There are now over seventy books listed, with several others standing by. Pearl's life story inspired Auntie LuLu's very first book. She also added her own pictures of the very photogenic, Pearl.About the photographer:Zdenka Barker, professional caregiver, took many photos of Pearl on her cell phone/computer, and enthusiastically joined Pearl's fan club. She named the pretty pumpkin, and helped with the layout of the book.
