Pharaohs and Kings: A Biblical Quest
Little conclusive evidence for a historical Old Testament has come to light in two centuries of archaeological endeavor. Ever since excavations in the Lands of the Bible began at the beginning of the last century, biblical scholars have systematically stripped out elements of the narratives - the stories of Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Saul, David, and Solomon - and consigned them to the realms of myth and folklore.
Egyptologist and ancient historian David Rohl has made a discovery that challenges the modern skeptical view of Old Testament history. His revolutionary theory demonstrates that archaeologists have been looking in the right places for evidence of the Israelites - but in completely the wrong time.
The New Chronology developed in Pharaohs and Kings reveals the true historical setting of the biblical epics, providing astonishing archaeological evidence for the existence of the Old Testament's most charismatic personalities. For the first time the lives of Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Saul, David, and Solomon are examined from a historical perspective, as David Rohl explores their cities, palaces, and tombs. Pharaohs and Kings unveils such archaeological wonders as the desecrated statue of Joseph in his "coat of many colors," the Israelite city of bondage in Egypt (including graphic evidence of the plagues), and letters from King Saul.

It is so fascinating that the tomb of Joseph was found. It must have been a long time between his death and when the Hebrews returned to their own country. It is my idea that Joseph showed the coat his father had given him also a scepter in his hand and Asiatic clothing to let the future generations know who he was in the tomb. Surely it was passed down from generation to generation the story of what he did in Egypt and that he requested his body to be taken back with them. Also fascinating is how God spoke to Joseph and told him the future of his people. This discovery is almost as exciting as the preservation of the Shroud of Turin!
