About the author (2011)

In his second book, Vallyn continues to share his uique story telling talents. Much of 48 Acres was based on real life experiences as a young boy growing up in the 60's where in Pink Pigeons, Vallyn draws upon the heart warming adventures of raising six boys. Being involved with little league and school sports for decades while raising his sons, first as a coach on the field and later a parent in the stands, has given Vallyn the opportunity to enjoy first hand the joys and tears of competition. Vallyn has the gift of being able to show how some of the simpliest of things can teach the most profound lessons in life. His distinctive story telling abilities bring out the best in people in ways that can leave a person laughing til their sides hurt while at the same time touching every other emotion. Enjoy this wonderful story of some young girls taking the bull by the horns, never quitting, and with the help of family, friends, and community, pulling off the impossible.
