Holle Plaehn served as pastor of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma, Washington for 32 years.  Pastor Plaehn, a humble man of God, was beloved by his congregation and greatly respected by the people in his community, from the those on the streets with whom he came in contact during his daily walks around the neighborhood to the community leaders he encouraged to do what was right for the people.

One of the many ways he shared his concerns for peace and justice and for the steadfastness of God in people’s lives was through his sermons.  The sermons he selected for this book are just a small representation of the comfort and inspiration he brought throughout his years of ministry by the sharing of God’s Word and God’s love in a way that connected with the people.
