About the author (1993)

Wendy Baker has been a teacher within all levels of education. She is now retired and works as a research assistant. Her interests and concerns are in contemporary European philosophy, psychoanalysis and theology.

Haslam is a joint winner of the Best Science Writing for Children Award from the American Institute of Physics, for the Make it Work! Science series. he has an MA in Graphic Design from the Royal College of Art in Graphic Information Design. He is also a qualified teacher of Art, Design and Craft, and Design and Technology. He has taught children both elementary and middle school levels.
