I haven't read the entire book, but the statement (pg 51) that tensile strength and elongation is reduced with the addition of calcium carbonate leads me to be skeptical of the validity of the book. For the author's information, this is a second order function according to composition. Up to a certain limit (~20 %), tensile strength and elongation exceed those of pure polypropylene.
