Prisoner 88: The Man in Stripes
What happens to a man who spends his 'university years' in Auschwitz? This is the story of three tragedies: the tragedy of a Roman Catholic imprisoned in Auschwitz; the tragedy of a man who subsequently unsuccessfully tries to erase four-and-a-half years from his life; the tragedy of a man who, succeeding in synthesising his life once more, finds himself alienating his compatriots, his co-religionists and his family.
