About the author (2010)

Dr. Sabry Shaaban received his PhD in management science from Sheffield Hallam University, England, and his MSc. in operational research from the University of Sussex, England. He joined ESC Rennes School of Business (France) in 1999 and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Finance and Operations, where he teaches courses in operations management and management science. He served as head of the department for 5 years. He has taught as a visiting professor at Thunderbird, Temple University, United States, and other business schools overseas. His research interests include studying the performance of a wide variety of production lines.

Dr. Sarah Hudson is a researcher and lecturer at the ESC Rennes School of Business. She completed her PhD in the field of liquid crystals and went on to work at the University of Sevilla, Spain, in the development of catalysts. She now teaches statistical analysis and research methods at ESC Rennes. Her research interests are in the field of sustainable development, technology, and production science. She is the coauthor of several articles in the area of production line efficiency with her colleague Sabry Shaaban.
