The Quarter Millinnian Celebration book is riviting and very informative about the prepartions and actual celebrations that took place in the City of Taunton. The book
includes speeches, lists of
participants, and specially written music for the occasion.
It is a great piece of orginal preparations and a template for future celebrations that
would be occasioned by the usual annual remembrances and current culture. I have
tried to interest the current President of Old Colony Museum to be the spark for the
beginning of organizing the 375th celebration, as well as three occasions (two letters
and one meeting, face to face with the current Mayor Tom Hoye) with the Mayor to
begin to organize some sort of celebration in 2014. Thus far the President Cynthia
has declined and the Mayor has been silent. I have approached two members of the
city council who have indicated that I should come before the council and give a
speech regarding the 375th. If accomplished I will use this book as my "bible"!
