New Hope Publishers, 2004 - Self-Help - 235 pages
For women caught in domestic violence, and for those close to them, finding the spiritual strength and practical resources to initiate change can seem formidable. Now, a Christian police officer who has witnessed countless cases of domestic abuse and repeatedly devoted his time and training to helping women break the cycle offers clear insights into:
- navigating the law enforcement/legal system to reach safety
- understanding that one's worth is in Christ, not in the approval of an abusive spouse
- directing victims to those who can lead them to Christ
- informing singles of warning signs in a potential mate
- educating churches about how to assist victims and hold abusers accountable
Written in a warm, protective tone, Refuge is a must-read for anyone seeking a way out of abuse for themselves or their loved ones.
