From the dustjacket: This book is a memoir of a woman geologist/geochemist. It takes us from her early days as a field geologist in the rough-hewn West to working for the U.S. government war effort during World War II and analyzing moon samples from the Apollo project. This book is as much for the novice interested in geology as for those who have made geology their life work. Ms Engel's grasp of the subject is superb.
