About the author (1996)

Emily Ellison is the author of three books of fiction ("Alabaster Chambers, First Light, " and "The Picture Makers") and the co-editor of an anthology of contemporary American literature ("Our Mutual Room: Modern Literary Portraits of the Opposite Sex"). Ms. Ellison is a founder of the Atlanta Girls' School, a nonsectarian, nondiscriminatory, nonprofit college preparatory day school for adolescent girls and young women. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband and teen-aged daughter.

Entertainer Fred Penner's records and music videos have sold over one million copies and have earned him a Juno Award for Best Children's Recording as well as awards from Parents' Choice, National Parenting Publications and the American Library Association. His television series, "Fred Penner's Place," can be seen on the Odyssey Channel.

Vickey Bolling has illustrated and designed more than 100 books for children.
