RECEIPTS FOR THE C U RE OF MOST DISORDERS INCIDENT TO MANKIND. i A GUE, take one pennyworth of frankincense, XV fpad it on a linen cloth, about four inches wide, and grate about half a nutmeg on the frankincense, put the above on the pit of the stomach when the fit comes on. 2. Ague, the cure; take first a vomit; the night following, take going to bed, one drachm of of Jesuits bark, and half a drachm of Venice treacle made into bokisles; wash them down with a glass of white wine, and the juice of lemon in it; take this dose for ten nights successively, then discontinue it for a week; after take it again for four nights, let the perfon avoid taking milk, or going in the air for an hour after rising, or in the evening after sun set. 3. Or, make fix middling pills of cobwebs. Take one a little before the cold fit: two a little before the next sit: the other three, if need be, a little before the third fit. 4.
