About the author (2003)

John E. Murray is the J. R. Hyde III Professor of Political Economy at Rhodes College and the author of "Origins of American Health Insurance.

Harry M. Flechtner has been a member of the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law since 1984. He teaches contracts and commercial law subjects, and has published extensively on international and domestic commercial law, with particular emphasis on international sales law. He has been cited by the Solicitor General of the United States as "one of the leading academic authorities on the [United Nations Sales] Convention," and speaks frequently on commercial law topics at academic and professional conferences and symposia. Professor Flechtner is a four-time winner of the University of Pittsburgh Law School s Excellence-in-Teaching Award, and has received the Chancellor's Teaching Award from the University of Pittsburgh. He serves as a National Correspondent for the United States at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law ("UNCITRAL"). He is a graduate of Harvard College, and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and an M.A. in literature from Harvard University.
