Satellite Home Viewer Improvement Act of 1999: A Legislative History of Public Law No. 106-113 Appendix I, 113 Stat. 1501 A-521, Volume 1
This Act was designed to enhance competition between cableand satellite carriers by eliminating restrictions on thecompulsory license granted to satellite companies in 1988by the Satellite Home Viewer Act. This Act also opened themarket to allow satellite carriers to transmit localaffiliate stations to their customers.
