"Saving the Whales- a Bwana Doc Adventure" is the first in a series of high adventure environmental piracy novels--one man's quest to right the wrongs against the earth and her creatures. Bwana Doc is James Bond, millionaire Bruce Wayne, Robin Hood, and Captain Morgan, rolled into one. "Saving the Whales" is the story of one man's quest to stop the Japanese whaling industry. Every summer, under the guise of doing "research" on whales, the Japanese whaling ship, Yoshino Maru, and her catcher ships journey south and kill thousands for their meat. Despite harassment from Oceanwarriors, a radical international environmental organization, the killing seems likely to continue as it has for many years. But Bwana Doc, a wealthy environmental Robin Hood is outraged by the slaughter and acts. With his band of capable and resourceful confederates, he makes a plan to end whaling once and for all. Teens on up will love this book.

About the author (2008)

A career of solving environmental problems around the world led D. R. Schneider to create Bwana Doc. When not working as an executive in environmental biotechnology, he is an avid scuba diver, enology enthusiast, avid reader and woodworking projects. He taught 25 years at the University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology as an Adjunct Associate Professor and remains as a research fellow. His "day" job for an international "green" company long before the word became politically correct has taken him to places around the world. D.R. lives in Round Rock, Texas with his wife. An author of many technical papers and books, this is his first novel. A percentage of the book sales of all Bwana Doc Adventures will be donated to worthy environmental organizations that he supports.
