Scandalous Saints and Spirited Sinners

Front Cover
Veritas Co. Ltd., 2005 - Religion - 64 pages
Saints can seem remote and distant, close to God but far from us. But they're more like us than we give them credit for. They are as human as we are. They had the same dilemmas as we have, struggled with doubts and fears as we do. People are keen on angels at the moment, but saints are even more attractive. Saints have all the qualities we love and hate in other people (and in ourselves!) When you read the story of a saint and realise that his or her life is actually like yours, you may well say at the end: 'if he orshe can do it, so can I!' There's not loads of text in this book. Each saint has a short biography, 200 words at the most, just a few unusual or little-known facts. A cartoon beside it helps you get to know the saint a little more.
